Blind date with Fibre (Socktober 2026)

Welcome to Socktober for spinners!

I've got more fibre on my shelves than I know what to do with — which, if you ask me, is a pretty good problem to have. So this Socktober, I'm sending some of it out into the world as a Blind Date with Fibre.

Here's how it works: you don't pick your colourway, I do. Every braid is 80% Corriedale / 20% nylon — the perfect sock-spinning blend, sturdy enough for hardwearing heels and toes — pulled from my current colourways, and which one lands in your parcel is entirely up to me. Think of it as a blind date: you know the base is right for you, you just don't know who's showing up.

Nervous about a total surprise? Leave me a note at checkout — a colour family you love, or one you'd rather I steer clear of — and I'll use my judgement within that. You still won't know exactly what's coming, but I promise I'm not just grabbing blindly off the shelf either.

This is a small batch, and I'm dyeing more as I go through Socktober — so if this round is claimed by the time you get here, check back, because another may have landed. Once a batch is gone, though, it's gone until the next one's ready.

The blend

80% Corriedale / 20% nylon, combed top, 100g per braid — enough for a full pair of socks, with plenty of bounce and just enough tooth to spin a durable, hardwearing yarn.

Why go in blind instead of just picking your favourite?

Fair question. A few reasons: three of the colourways in this round (and more, as I dye them) aren't listed individually anywhere else in my shop — the only way to get them is through a blind date. The rest you could technically find and choose yourself elsewhere on the site, but every braid here comes with a treat that those listings don't include, so you're getting more for the same price either way. And honestly? Half the fun is not knowing.

Every braid comes with a treat — and the more you take home, the more you get:

1 braid: a stitch marker
2 braids: stitch marker + needle stoppers
3 braids: stitch marker + needle stoppers + a pin
4+ braids: all of the above, plus an extra special surprise
How it works

Pick your quantity at checkout — you won't see the colourway before it ships, that's the whole point of a blind date. Want to nudge the odds a little? Add a note with a colour family you'd love (or one to avoid) and I'll take it into account. Ships within 1-2 days.
